Sri Lankan President Sirisena to visit Camp Crame

MANILA, Philippines – Sri Lankan President Maithripala Sirisena will visit the headquarters of the Philippine National Police (PNP) at Camp Crame in Quezon City on Saturday, Jan. 19., the last day of his five-day state visit to the country.
Sirisena will be welcomed in the camp by Interior Secretary Eduardo Año and PNP chief Director General Oscar Albayalde. He will then be accorded full state honors on his arrival, the PNP said in a statement Friday.

“The PNP is honored to host this first-ever visit to the PNP national headquarters by a foreign head of state,” Albayalde said.
Secretary Catalino Cuy, chairman of the Dangerous Drugs Board, will also hold a briefing for the Sri Lankan president on the government’s campaign against illegal drugs, according to the PNP.
The PNP said a photo exhibit of scenes from actual anti-illegal drugs operations will be presented to the Sri Lankan delegation joining Sirisena.
On Wednesday, Sirisena and President Rodrigo Duterte held private meetings at Malacañang where they witnessed the signing of five agreements between the two countries.
The agreements cover matters on defense and military education and training, agriculture, education, and tourism. /muf
