Andaya asks SC to order Diokno to release govt workers’ pay hike

MAJORITY Leader Rolando Andaya of the House of Representatives on Monday asked the Supreme Court to order the Department of Budget and Management (DBM) to implement the fourth tranche of a salary increase for government workers under the Salary Standardization Law (SSL).
In a 27-page Petition for Mandamus before the high court, Andaya said the implementation on January 2019 was contained in Executive Order 201, which then president Benigno Aquino 3rd issued.
Andaya also asked the Supreme Court to issue a preliminary mandatory injunction to order Diokno to perform his ministerial duty in the release of the funds for the government workers. JOMAR CANLAS
