MANILA, Philippines—Presidential Communications Secretary Martin Andanar on Friday said President Rodrigo Duterte’s high approval and trust rating shows that the government is aware of the concerns of the Filipinos.

Andanar issued the statement after Duterte, according to the latest Pulse Asia survey, scored an 81 percent approval and 76 percent trust ratings in the December 14-21 poll, the highest among top government officials in the country.

“The latest Pulse Asia Survey, which gives President Rodrigo Roa Duterte an 81 percent Approval and 76 percent Trust Rating, is a testament to how this administration is attuned to the needs of the greater majority,” Andanar said.

“This government will continue to focus on the goal of giving a ‘comfortable life for all,’ rid drugs, criminality and corruption,” he added.
