MANILA, Philippines — Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Oscar Albayalde on Wednesday said he is satisfied with the security measures employed during the Feast of the Black Nazarene in Quiapo, Manila.
Albayalde stressed that he is “very much satisfied” so far as they have recorded minimal injury report during the traditional Traslacion.
“So far we recorded 477 injuries, minor injuries lang ‘to (only),” Albayalde told reporters at Quiapo Church.
“So far no untoward incidents maliban doon sa 477 na nabigyan ng medical treatments, mga minor lacerations lang,” he added.
(No untoward incidents besides the 477 who given medical treatment for minor lacerations.)
The PNP chief also thanked the augmentation provided by the military in helping ensuring security during Traslacion.
“Of course nagpapasalamat tayo sa ating counterpart sa Armed Forces of the Philippines for the augmentation na mahigit dalawang libo na binigay nila and of course pati ‘yung fly by kanina hanggang mamayang gabi ‘yan we still have two to three flights mamaya para macheck ‘yung ruta (ng procession) coming from the Philippine Air Force,” he said.
(Of course we are thanking our counterpart in the AFP for their augmentation of more than 2,000 personnel and of course also the fly by awhile ago until later tonight; we still have two to three flights later to check on the route of the procession coming from the Philippine Air Force.) /je
