THE Supreme Court set oral arguments on January 22 and 23 for the petition of seven opposition lawmakers to junk the third extension of the imposition of martial law in Mindanao, well-placed sources said at the resumption of its en banc session after the holiday break.
Malacañang and Congress were also asked to comment on the issue.
The lawmakers, led by Albay Rep. Edcel Lagman, filed their petition seeking to declare the third extension of martial rule, as well as the suspension of the privilege of the writ of habeas corpus in Mindanao, as unconstitutional. JOMAR CANLAS
