Former special assistant to the President Christopher Lawrence “Bong” Go thanked his supporters and vowed to render “true service” days after a Social Weather Stations (SWS) senatorial survey showed him jumping 10 places to the 14th to 15th rank.
“First of all, I would like to thank those who continue to put their faith in my capability to serve the country. I am thankful because from the previous 24 to 26 ranking, I am now statistically tied in the 14th place,” Go said in a statement.
Five months leading to the May 2019 midterm elections, Go tied with former Bureau of Corrections and Philippine National Police head Ronald de la Rosa in the survey conducted from December 16 to 19.
SWS listed 63 candidates for the survey and used face-to-face interviews of about 1,500 respondents with a margin of error of ±3 percent
“Aside from the increase in support for my senatorial candidacy based on the latest SWS survey, we can also see the sentiments of many Filipinos to continue with the genuine change being fought for by President Rodrigo Duterte,” Go said.
He vowed to use the survey results as inspiration to show true service that Filipinos deserve.
Go’s legislative agenda include programs on health, education, agriculture, housing, long-term sports development, localized peace talks, fire protection and prevention, creation of a department for overseas Filipino workers, barangay (village) welfare, and improved benefits for senior citizens.
“We will continue our solidarity to show concern for our neighbors, serve like the President serves without waiting for anything in return except for the upliftment of the dignity of each Filipino,” he said.
