White shows great promise in PSL GenSan swim meet

Promising tanker Hannah White made her presence felt on the second day of the competition by claiming four gold medals in the 151st Philippine Swimming League (PSL) National Series – 3rd LC5 Inter-School Friendship Swimming Meet being held at the LC5 Swimming Pool in General Santos City.

White, a Susan Papa Swim Academy standout, reigned supreme in the girls’ 6-under 50m backstroke with a time of one minute and 5.38 seconds and the 100m freestyle in 2:20.21.

The six-year-old Filipino-British tanker also ruled the 50m breaststroke (1:10.04) and 50m freestyle (50.35) of the tournament supported by The Manila Times and MX3.

“Four years ago, we already knew that this kid has the potential to become a great swimmer and we are happy to see her grow and improve. We are looking forward to see her winning in international competitions,” said PSL President Susan Papa.

Hanna’s sister Heather and brother Ruben also won gold medals in their respective age-bands.

Heather copped two gold medals in the girls’ 11-12 class – 100m backstroke (1:18.10) and 200m backstroke (2:52.41) while Ruben topped the boys’ 13-14 100m backstroke (1:12.21).

Palarong Pambansa champion Micaela Jasmine Mojdeh continued her dominating performance by bagging two more gold medals in the girls’ 11-12 division (100m butterfly, 1:07.30, and 200m Individual Medley, 2:32.78).

Francisco Cordero (boys’ 11-12 200m IM, 2:38.44) and Jibril Talosig (boys’ 6-under 50m freestyle, 1:00.82) also won one gold medal each in their pet events.

The other gold medal winners were Nicole Rojo (girls’ 13-14 200m freestyle, 2:26.39), Kelsey Jaudian (girls’ 15-over 200m freestyle, 2:28.75), Jasmine Cabajar (girls’ 7-8 100m backstroke, 2:03.70), Kate Jaudian (girls’ 9-10 100m backstroke 1:32.94) and Cyrryl Vallar (boys’ 15-over 400m freestyle, 4:31.18).

“Once again we would like to thank Lolita Palacios and PSL Mindanao regional director Bob Palacios for staging this competition for our young swimmers. It’s a good venue to showcase their skills,” added Papa.
