THREE gunrunners tagged in numerous gun-related violence in several cities were arrested on Saturday in Pasig City, the Eastern Police District (EPD) said.
During the buy bust operation by the Eastern Metro Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG), John Ryan Suarez, Amado Gaspar and Kim Marollano, all of whom were identified as members of a criminal and drug syndicate, were arrested at 3:30 a.m. at Mulawin St. in Barangay Pinagbuhatan.
The EPD said the suspects were involved in several arms running activities and robberies in Pasig City, provinces of Bulacan and Rizal and adjacent areas.
Prior to the police sting, the EPD received information from a confidential informant that the three were allegedly members of the notorious “Bandal” criminal gang, where the leader was Suarez.
A body search on the suspects yielded nine sachets of shabu, a colt caliber .38 revolver loaded with six live ammunition, a caliber 22 loaded with three live ammunition and six caliber 45 ammunition and P2000 drug money from Suarez.
Gaspar was frisked with a Llama Caliber 380 with an ammunition cartridge with seven live ammunition.
Police also seized a Mitsubishi Montero with plate no. ABJ 6697, used by the three to deliver the arms for transaction. Also found were three heat-sealed sachets of shabu.
All the suspects will be facing charges for violating of Republic Act (RA) 10591 for Illegal possession of firearms and RA 9165 for possession 12 sachets of suspected shabu before the Pasig City Prosecutor’s Office. NEIL JAYSON N. SERVALLOS
