He is a Filipino movie buff. Special Assistant to the President Christopher “Bong” Go proudly revealed to Entertainment editors and veteran columnists, “Mahilig po ako sa pelikulang Pilipino.”
As far back as seven years of age in Davao, he would especially watch the movies of Lito Lapid, Philip Salvador and Fernando Poe Jr. in cinemas, sat on wooden benches.
“May surot pa po yun,” he added laughing.
The movie fan, who also confessed to imitating his screen idols when he played at their family-owned printing press in Mindanao’s capital, is all the more amazed at the twist of fate.
He was named “Selfie King” because of a rare opportunity. Go cannot think of anyone else in the world who has had a selfie with the world’s current set of leaders but himself.
“It was such a rare opportunity during APEC [2017] na one time mo silang lahat makakaharap kaya po ewan ko na lang kung may iba pang tao na nakapagpa-selfie sa lahat ng world leaders — kila [US President Donald] Trump, kila [Canadian President Justin] Trudeau. That’s how I became the ‘Selfie King.’
He is only the “Pambansang Photobomber” out of responsibility. According to Go, the only reason why he is always caught in the majority of President Duterte’s photographs is because he is carrying out his duties for the Chief Executive.
