NBI files illegal possession of explosives case vs cop, 2 others
The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) has filed a case for illegal possession of explosives against a police officer and two others arrested last week in an entrapment operation.
Police Officer 2 Glenn Magalso, Feliz Aleria, and Mark Aleria are facing a complaint for violation of Republic Act 9516 for illegal possession of explosives.
The NBI said they received information that the suspects have been selling explosives to private citizens, usually unlicensed miners in Mt. Diwalwal, Compostela Valley. They were arrested last Nov. 22 in an entrapment operation.
After receiving information, authorities have set up the operation. They ordered 15 sets of explosives worth P18,000 per set or a total of P270,000 from Feliz Aleria.
Upon delivery, Aleria and the driver, Mark, were arrested.
After the arrest, the NBI said Feliz was receiving calls from “Ser Glen” who was demanding the proceeds of the supposed sale. Authorities then proceeded to the meeting place. Magalso reportedly attempted to escape, but NBI blocked his vehicle. /ee
