4 killed as passenger bus rams tricycle in Zambales

OLONGAPO CITY—A family was killed after a passenger bus crashed into a tricycle in Sta. Cruz, Zambales at 10 p.m. on Saturday.

Police said the southbound tricycle carrying the victims veered into the opposite lane of the national highway to avoid a wayward motorcycle, and was rammed by a northbound Victory Liner bus in Barangay (village) Lipay.

The tricycle’s driver, Tilyong Arbizo, and his wife Michelle were killed while their two children — Daniel Arbizo, 8 and Mikoy Arbizo, 4 — died as they were brought to a hospital.

Three more children on board the tricycle were injured, but investigators did not say if they were related to the fatalities.
