QC teachers to get P1,500 allowance

Quezon City Mayor Herbert Bautista has signed an ordinance granting P1,500 monthly allowance to all public school basic education teachers and non-teaching personnel in the city.

Ordinance 2751-2018, authored by councilors Julienne Alyson Rae Medalla and Raquel Malaguen, recognized the contributions of both teaching and non-teaching personnel of the Department of Education in the elementary and high school departments.

The P1,500 monthly allowance is expected to help the more than 15,000 public school teachers cope with rising prices of goods.

It was not clear however if the P1,500 allowance would be released before Christmas.
