Alleged drug pusher slain in Lucena buy-bust
LUCENA CITY–An alleged drug pusher was killed in a buy-bust operation here Monday night, police said.
Anti-illegal drugs operatives led by Supt. Reydante Ariza, the new Lucena police chief, tried to arrest Joseph Villamin, 36, after selling shabu (crystal meth) to an undercover police officer in a transaction inside a subdivision in Barangay Bocohan around 8:10 p.m., Senior Supt. Osmundo de Guzman, Quezon police chief, said in a report.
But while being arrested, Villamin resisted and pulled his .38-caliber revolver and fired at the policemen but missed.
Policemen shot back and hit the suspect who died on the spot.
Police recovered two plastic sachets of shabu containing less than one gram from the suspect. /jpv
