Gunmen kill company exec in Tagum
DAVAO CITY—An executive of a processed food company was shot dead by unidentified assailants in Tagum City, Davao del Norte on Friday, police on Saturday said.
Chief Insp. Milgrace Driz, Southern Mindanao police regional spokesperson, said James Gallardo,47, regional sales manager of tocino-maker Pampanga’s Best, was relieving himself beside his parked white Nissan Navarra along a road in Tipaz, Barangay (Village) Magugpo East when attacked around 2:15 p.m.
The undetermined number of assailants fled as the victim was rushed by members of the city disaster risk reduction management council (CDRRMO) to the Davao Regional Medical Center.
Attending physicians declared Gallardo dead upon arrival.
Driz said police recovered at the scene of the crime two slugs and seven empty shell casings from a caliber .45 pistol.
An investigation into the incident was now being conducted, the police official said. /jpv
