GenTri DepEd wins big in Cavite Gawad Bandila

GENERAL TRIAS CITY, Cavite: General Trias DepEd dominated the 2018 Cavite Gawad Bandila of the Department of Education (DepEd)-Division of Cavite, wining 12 citations during the awarding ceremony held at the Carmona covered court in Carmona, Cavite.

GenTri DepEd was cited as Most Effective Elementary and High School Reading Program Implementor for Tropical Village Elem. School and Governor Ferrer Main National High School; Most Effective School Early Language, Literacy Numeracy (ELLN) Implementor for Santiago Elementry School; Outstanding Elementary and High School Gender and Development (GAD) Program Implementor for Bacao Elem. School and Tropical Village National High in Brgy. San Francisco; Outstanding Elementary School Sports Program Implementor for Buenavista Elementary School under Ms. Glenda Recto, Principal II and Mr. Wilmer Perlado, BES Sports coordinator.

The Outstanding Secondary Researcher also went to Mr. Mark Airon Creus of Luis Y. Ferrer Jr National High School.

Demetrio Recto Jr, Ed.D, principal of Javalera Elementary School placed second for the Most Outstanding Elementary Principal; while Luis Y. Ferrer Jr. of North National High in Marycris Complex, Pasong Camachile was second place for Best High School based Management Implementor.

Tejero Elementary School won second place in the Outstanding Elementary School Disaster Risk Reduction Management (DRRM) Program Implementor category by putting an evacuation site inside their campus courtesy of the GenTri local government.

Diego Mojica Elementary School in Barangay Bagumbayan placed third in the Outstanding Elementary Brigada Eskwela Implementor.

Meanwhile, Silang DepEd won 10 awards and Tagaytay City DepEd, seven.

Silang Central School was first place for the Outstanding Elementary Campus Journalism Program Implementor; Amadeo Elementary School was Best Performing Public Elementary School; and Tagaytay City Science National High was Best Performing Public High School.

Michelle Marges of Tua Elementary School, Magallanes town and Alma Cosino of Alfonso, Cavite National High were Outstanding Public Elementary Teacher and High School Teacher, respectively.

Jocelyn Contreras of Silang West Elementary School and Bernadette Sumagui of Malabag National High in Silang Cavite were Outstanding Public Elementary and High School Principal, respectively.

Cavite DepEd cited Maragondon DepEd and LGU for the numerous barangays with zero out of school youth namely Pinagsanhan B, Tulay A, Layong Mabilog, Talipusngo, Pantihan II, Poblacion 1-A, Poblacion 2-A, Bucal 3-A and Bucal 4-A.

“I together with Cong. Jon Jon Ferrer (Lone District-GenTri), Vice Mayor Morit Sison and the rest of Team GenTri congratulate all winners especially in DepEd GenTri, in their efforts to raise the level of education in the city,” GenTri Mayor Antonio “Ony” Ferrer said in an interview.

DepEd Cavite’s Gawad Bandila is a recognizing body for the exemplary performance of the Schools Division Office (SDO) of Cavite Province teaching and non-teaching personnel led by Cherrylou Repia, Cavite Schools Division superintendent.

Teachers, principals and schools who emerged as first place winners in the Gawad Bandila were sent as DepEd-Cavite’s entries for Gawad Patnugot of DepEd REgion 4-A Calabarzon.
