MRT-3 prepares for ’Ompong’
The Metro Rail Transit – Line 3 (MRT-3) has given assurance that it is conducting preparations for Typhoon “Ompong,” which entered the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) on Wednesday afternoon.
It said it would ensure the availability of trains as well as emergency tools and equipment as another strong typhoon hits the country.

Part of the preparations is keeping close tabs on weather bulletins released by Pagasa and coordinating with the Philippine National Police (PNP), National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC), Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) and other emergency responders such as the Red Cross.
The MRT-3 said it would also secure all structures or objects that may fall due to strong winds brought about by the typhoon and make sure that “all submersible pumps are operational or functional.” /ee
