Fire in Quiapo, Manila now at 3rd alarm
The third alarm was raised on the fire that hit the Orient Pearl Building on Claro M. Recto Avenue in Quiapo, Manila on Wednesday, according to the Manila Fire District.
The fire started at around 9:00 p.m.
Motorists are advised to avoid the stretch of Recto Avenue from Nicanor Reyes (Morayta) Street to Quezon Boulevard, especially the westbound lane of this road.
As of this writing, firefighters are still trying to find out the cause of the fire.
Shops inside the building, catering mostly to students at the University Belt, contain combustible materials.
