Anwar Ibrahim remains passionate about justice, freedom

DATO Seri Anwar Bin Ibrahim, the former deputy prime minister and finance minister of Malaysia vowed to continue to fight for justice and freedom.

“What I learned is that my passion for justice and freedom is far more stronger than before I was incarcerated,” Anwar said in his speech during the Management Association of the Philippine’s CEO Conference at the Makati Shangrila on Tuesday.

“This is passion in my mind is not negotiable,” he said.

Anwar further said that while he has forgiven former Prime Minister Najib for the insult and injustice inflicted on him, he could not forgive him for stealing from the people.

“I as a leader cannot forgive a man who has stolen millions. We must make sure that every money stolen will be forcibly returned,” he said.

Anwar will replace Mahatmir Mohammad as Malaysian Prime Minister.

He is highly regarded for his position against corruption and his skillful management of the Malaysian economy during the Asian financial crisis.

He was recently released from prison after being pardoned by the King last May.
