Former village councilor shot dead in Isabela

TUMAUINI, Isabela — A former village councilor was shot dead by two motorcycle-riding gunmen in Pilitan village on Saturday afternoon, the police said on Sunday.

Pepe Baccay, 47, was on his way to the local cockpit arena aboard a motorcycle when two gunmen blocked his path at 1:45 p.m. and shot him multiple times.

His body was brought to the morgue at the Tumauini Community Hospital for an autopsy. Investigators have yet to identify the killers and the motive behind the attack. /ee
