Benguet, Pampanga suspend classes

Classes were suspended on Friday in several areas in Benguet and Pampanga due to bad weather.

The Cordillera Administrative Region will have cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms caused by the southwest monsoon, the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said in its regional weather forecast.

A portion of Region III, where Pampanga belongs, will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers triggered by localized thunderstorms.

As of 6:40 a.m., local authorities in the following areas announced the suspension of classes:

Abra province

  • Pre-school to High School (public/private)

Ilocos Norte

  • San Nicolas – Elementary level
  • Dingras – Elementary to high school
  • Northwestern University – Elementary level

Benguet

  • Atok – Pre-school to High school
  • Baguio City – All levels
  • Bokod – Pre-school to Elementary
  • Buguias – Pre-school to High School
  • Itogon – All levels
  • Kapangan – Pre-school to High School School
  • Kibungan – Pre-school to High School
  • La Trinidad – Pre-school to High School
  • Tuba –  Pre-school to Elementary School
  • Tublay – All levels

Pampanga

  • Apalit – Paligui Elementary School, Sampaga Elementary School and High School and Fausto Gonzales Sioco Memorial Elementary School (Colgante)
  • Macabebe – All levels
  • Masantol – All levels
  • San Simon – San Agustin, San Isidro, Sta.Cruz, San Pablo
  • San Luis – San Luis Elementary School, Sto. Rosario Elementary School
  • Sasmuan – All levels (Public ONLY) EXCEPT Sto. Tomas Elementary School and High School, and Central Elementary School
  • Sto. Tomas – Sto Tomas Elementary School and High School, San Matias National High School
