Duterte: Joma Sison is a ‘freeloading rebel’
Communist leader Joma Sison is nothing but a freeloading rebel who should stop wasting the taxes of Europeans, President Rodrigo Duterte said on Tuesday.
Duterte said that Sison should be merciful towards Norwegians and stop taking advantage of their taxes for his own personal gain.
“You know, Mr. Sison, you are a refugee in that country. You are availing of the funds of the Norwegian people. You do not pay anything,” the Chief Executive said in a speech in Cebu City.
“You might perhaps go to some… Belgium o ‘yung Germany. You stop, nakakaawa ang Norwegian people. They are footing the bill, and you are a rebel that is a freeloader. Nagfe-freeload ka lang dyan,” he said.
Sison, the founder of the Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP), fled to the Netherlands in 1987 after peace talks failed in the Philippines.
Norway is the third-party facilitator of the peace talks between the Philippine government and the communist rebels led by Sison. As of writing, the peace talks are suspended.
“You are staying for free, and you are sick with cancer, in and out of the hospital. Ask another country to accept you, to give you the refuge, they call it the sanctuary, right of sanctuary, because you are sick,” Duterte said.
“Stop it. Mahiya ka naman. You will never win, I assure you. Pag nakita kita sa impyerno, p…mo, sampalin kita,” he also said.
