MIAA: Naia operations return to normal after 24-hour runway closure

After more than 24 hours of closure, the Manila International Airport Authorities (Miaa) announced on Saturday that runway 06/24 is now open for flight operations.

This development came after a Xiamen Air jet skidded and went off the runway as it landed at Naia during a heavy downpour on Thursday evening.

The Miaa said that the runway has opened at around 11:28 a.m., more than 30 minutes before the target time of opening.
