2 robbers killed in shootout with Quezon City cops
Two alleged robbers died in an encounter with officers of the Novaliches Police Station in Quezon City early Saturday morning.
The officers chanced on the still unidentified men on a motorcycle in a follow-up operation at around 2:15 a.m.
The two men were allegedly involved in a robbery hold-up incident at tje cprmer pf Quirino Highway and Diamond Avenue in Barangay San Bartolome at around 1:00 a.m.
The men, believed to be in their 30s, reportedly sped off when spotted by authorities.
After a chase, police officers the two men at Susano Road near the corner of Eden Street in Barangay San Agustin.
Police said the suspects then fired at the officers, who fired back and hit them.
Victims of the robbery incident positively identified the two men, according to a police report.
Recovered from the shootout scene were a .45-caliber pistol with three rounds of ammunition, a .38-caliber revolver, four rounds of ammunition for 9-millimeter pistol, and two sachets of crystal meth, or shabu. /atm
