Police officer in Duterte drug list killed in buy-bust
A FORMER police officer who was on President Rodrigo Duterte’s narcolist was killed in a buy-bust operation on Monday night in Valenzuela City.
Ex PO2 Exequel Sangko was shot dead by an operative of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) during an operation at St. Jude Subdivision in Malinta at 9:25 p.m. He was rushed to Dalandanan Emergency Hospital where an attending physician declared him dead on arrival.
The agent, who acted as a poseur-buyer, was buying one sachet of “shabu” when Sangko realized that he was transacting with an anti-narcotics agent.
He tried to draw his firearm but the agent beat him to it and was shot.
Authorities confiscated an undetermined amount of suspected shabu and assorted peso bills.
Sangko was on Duterte’s narcolist, according to PDEA.
He is the latest police officer who has been linked to crime since last week.
Others are PO1 Michael Siervo, alleged leader of a kidnapping syndicate, and PO3 Mohammad Tolete who killed vice mayor Al-Rashid Mohammad Ali of Sapa-Sapa, Tawi-Tawi, last July 11. ROY NARRA
