SEVEN drug suspects, with P1.7 milllion worth of illegal drugs, were arrested in a buy-bust operation in Taguig City, Chief Supt. Guillermo Eleazar, regional director of the National Capital Regional Office (NCRPO), said on Thursday.
Eleazar identified the suspects as Gary Cruz alias Gary/Ulopong, Zosima Buenviaje alias Jopay, Renie Pascual alias Bulate, Napoleon Tolentino Jr. alias Nap, Jose Gallardo Carlo alias Gallardo, Ariel Legaspi, and Arthuro Villar alias Seven.
Initial investigation showed that Cruz and Pascual were arrested right after their transaction with a police poseur buyer who bought P200,000 worth of “shabu” from them on Wednesday night.
The remaining suspects were found inside Cruz’s house sniffing “shabu.”
Authorities seized 250 grams of the illegal substance worth P1.7 million, one improvised totter with shabu residue, two pieces of rolled aluminum foil also with shabu residue, one improvised burner, one disposable lighter, two scissors, one pack of small transparent plastic sachets, and one digital weighing scale.
The suspects are now under the custody of Regional Drug Enforcement Unit-NCRPO while the confiscated items have been subjected to proper disposition and submission to the Crime Laboratory Office for technical examination.
The suspects are facing charges of violating Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act. ROY NARRA
