Diokno: There will be 2019 elections
THERE will be midterm elections in 2019, Budget Secretary Benjamin Diokno said on Tuesday.
“We’re not discussing no-el (no election) scenario,” Diokno said, answering queries from Majority Leader Rolando Andaya Jr. on the first day of the 2019 budget deliberations at the House of Representatives.
“There will be an election next year,” Diokno said.
Diokno said the allocation for the midterm elections was P7 billion under the proposed 2019 budget while P11 billion was appropriated for preparations ahead of the polls. REINA TOLENTINO
