PDEA condemns murder of Cebu agent

The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) has condemned the killing of one of its agents in Cebu City.

PDEA director general Aaron Aquino said that the death of its Investigation Agent III, identified as Earl “Baby” Rallos, would be given justice.

“We strongly condemn this cowardly action against PDEA agents who have been diligently working against the illegal drug operators,” Aquino said in a statement on Saturday.

“We will make sure that his death will not pass without worth as we will continue our fight against the illegal drugs industry,” he added.

Aquino also said that the drug agency would not back down despite the killing on one of its agents.

“For those who seek to harm us, we vow that for every life you take, we will grow stronger by ten folds. We will not rest until this is over and we will not be threatened by your criminal acts,” Aquino said.

Rallos was shot dead by still unidentified men riding in tandem along Villalon Street, Barangay Capitol Site, Cebu City, on Thursday afternoon

Rallos sustained a number of gunshot wounds in different parts of his body and died on the spot.

In 2013, PDEA Information Officer Jesus “Jessie” Tabanao was also killed by assailants while he was driving his car, also in Cebu. /cbb
