10 Chinese nationals to be deported for economic, cyber crimes
THE Bureau of Immigration (BI) will deport 10 Chinese nationals wanted by authorities in Beijing for allegedly committing economic and cyber crimes.
Immigration Commissioner Jaime Morente said in a statement that some were arrested in several operations by the bureau’s intelligence unit last week in Pampanga and Metro Manila.
Seven were identified as Li Tian Feng, Duan Tingting, Li Miao, Zou Wang, Zhang Hailong, Wang Liao, and Huang Zongyou. They were arrested inside their condominium unit in Roxas Blvd., Pasay City on July 18 for their alleged involvement in economic crimes and cyber fraud.
Meanwhile, Cai Miao Ling was arrested at McKinley Hills, Taguig City on July 19; Ji Jingxiu, in Angeles City, Pampanga on July 22 and Wang Xiaobo, at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport on July 17.
Ji is wanted for cyber fraud and economic crimes while Wang “is a subject of Interpol red notice for involvement in smuggling.”
Immigration cancelled the passports of those arrested, said Intelligence Officer Bobby Raquepo, head of the BI’s fugitive search unit said.
The suspects are being held at the BI’s detention facility in Camp Bagong Diwa, Taguig City while awaiting their deportation. CATHERINE A. MODESTO
