Multiply by the power of two

Campus buddies spearhead emerging management house Sindikato

Partnership molded from the idealistic, carefree miniature real world of school days can surely make a major impact on a business in a special way.

It helps that young business partners Enzo Valdez and Edzon Rapisora have been friends since their fifth grade, were in the same theater club, and share the same passion for music and video clips. For the past 15 years, or practically the whole of this young 21st century, they have been seeing each other almost on a daily basis.

For one, the friendship has resulted in the birth and growth of Sindikato Management Inc., a one-stop powerhouse for talents deserving of career direction, the right gigs, and appropriate exposure attuned to digital times.

“For us it’s more about growth more than earning everything we spend back,” rationalized Rapisora, the company’s general manager, referring to their decision to go into talent managing.

Sindikato began as a video production in 2006, quickly getting the attention of the local band scene for their stylish work. In fact the team did five music videos for hit band Callalily. Small wonder the mainstream rock group is now under its wing.

Eventually venturing into creating original content and short films, the company gained strong traction by effectively handling brand advertising projects. The talent management side is in essence its way of paying it forward to the music scene people who in one way or another helped broaden their network by word-of-mouth recommendation.

Valdez, Sindikato’s CEO, expressed in a professional tone, “We want to give opportunities to our talents and let them use our platforms and skills set to help them grow their craft.”

He noted that the company is “actually doing well” in terms of revenue streams. “Definitely escalating,” he nodded, “This year is twice the growth of last year and last year doubled that of 2016.”

The corporate combo, the members of which were also bandmates for a time, is currently leading a pack of 16 like-minded employees, bonded by innate creativity and well-roundedness. The company’s artist roster is a growing list of interesting emerging acts with strong online presence, led by bands Sud and Ben & Ben, each one different-sounding.

The other artists under Sindikato are Hulyo, Fighting River Blindness, Unit 406, lone solo act Fern, and the seasoned Callalily.

Rapisora expressed their idea of working with dynamic individuals in their own mold. “We hire people who can fill up multiple roles. We want them to explore their set of skills and discover potential beyond their perceived limitation.”

Valdez further expressed his thoughts on the collaboration, “We decided to stick together and work on each other’s strengths. In this business you have to be positive. We dream together as we work on a specific advertising project or decide on the pros and cons of handling a talent.”

“It’s doing something old but with a twist to it, trying to make every project exciting, different, and hopefully, better,” echoed his partner.
