Criminal gang leader, accomplice arrested in Caloocan buy-bust
THE leader of a criminal gang operating in parts Metro Manila and Bulacan and his accomplice were arrested on Friday morning in a buy-bust operation in Caloocan City.
Units of the Regional Drug Enforcement Unit-National Capital Region Police Office (RDEU-NCRPO), Station Drug Enforcement Unit of Caloocan City Police Station, and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA)-NCR arrested Rolando Arnaiz alias Lang-Lang and David Montalbo alias Dave at Tulyahan Road corner Ignacia Road in Barangay Sta. Quiteria.
Arnaiz is the alleged leader of the Roban Valenzuela-Lang Lang Arnaiz Gang, which has been responsible for the drug trafficking and gun for hire activities in the areas of Caloocan City, Quezon City, and Bulacan Province.
Arnaiz is currently listed as the top most wanted person of the Novaliches Police Station.
Based on the initial report, the suspects arrived in the area where the transaction was suppose to be taking place, boarding a black Mazda car. The undercover agent then approached the two and purchased 50 grams of “shabu,” using P100,000 in buy-bust money. After the transaction, operatives immediately arrested the suspects.
They confiscated a firearm, three magazines, 15 pieces of live ammunition, and 350 grams of the illegal drug worth about P2.3 million.
Arnaiz and Montalbo are currently under the custody of RDEU-NCRPO for investigation. They will face charges for violating Republic Act (RA) 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 and RA 10591 The Comprehensive Law on Firearms and Ammunition. ROY NARRA
