Soldier shoots dead fellow soldier in Capiz
A soldier was killed on Thursday by his fellow soldier inside their headquarters in Tapaz, Capiz, an official said.
Capt. Eduardo Precioso, spokesman for the Philippine Army’s 3rd Infantry Division, identified the fatality as Private First Class Delio Sebarillo, 37, a soldier designated to Alpha Coy under the 94th Infantry Battalion while the suspect was identified as Private First Class Sargie Labao, 28, also from the same unit.
The shooting happened at 4 a.m. Precioso said.
Precioso said based on initial investigation, Sebarillo was shot by Labao using a caliber 9-millimeter pistol and was brought to the Tapaz District Hospital where he was declared dead on arrival.
He added that there was no definite reason yet on why Labao shot Sebarillo but said the suspect was admitted to the Armed Forces of the Philippines’ Medical Center in Quezon City to undergo psychological tests.
Charges were also filed against Labao who has been disarmed by the company commander. DEMPSEY REYES
