Estrada suspends work in Manila City Hall

MANILA Mayor Joseph Estrada announced the suspension of work in city hall effective noontime on Wednesday in anticipation of heavy rain according to the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa).

In an advisory release by his office, Estrada said only staff from departments in charge of relief operations and quick response like the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office (MDRRMO), Manila Traffic and Parking Bureau (MTPB), Manila Health Department and the Engineering Department were required to stay.

Pagasa raised the orange rainfall warning in Metro Manila, along with Rizal, Bataan and Zambales, because of the threat of floods from the heavy rains. KIM MALAIT
