Mastermind in mayor Bote slay identified — report
PHILIPPINE National Police (PNP) chief Oscar Albayalde has identified the mastermind in the killing of General Tinio, Nueva Ecija Mayor Ferdinand Bote, according to a report.
Quoting Albayalde, the report identified Christian Saquilabon whose name was
provided by one of the suspects who was arrested in Camarines Sur on Wednesday.
Chief Supt. Amador Corpus, Police Regional Office 3 director, said in a separate interview, that there were eight other suspects in the killing of Bote, including alleged gunman, Robert Gumatay, who has confessed to the crime.
Bote was ambushed last July 3 aboard his Toyota Fortuner as he left the National Irrigation Administration compound in Cabanatuan City.
Bote was the second local executive to be killed in July.
Tanauan City, Batangas Mayor Antonio Halili was shot dead during a flag ceremony on July 2.
