P3M worth of ‘shabu’ seized in Cavite, 4 suspects nabbed
SAN PEDRO CITY – Authorities have confiscated P3.3 million worth of suspected “shabu” (crystal meth) and arrested four individuals in separate anti-illegal drugs operations in Cavite province.
A report from the Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, Quezon (Calabarzon) police on Monday said police arrested suspects Jamila Alonto, alias “Gemma Jose,” and Lanie Garcia in a buy-bust operation conducted around 4:30 p.m. Sunday in Barangay (village) Datu Esmael, Dasmariñas City.
Prior the drug sting, police said an “informant” went to the Cavite police intelligence unit and tipped off authorities about the suspects’ operation. The informant allegedly got the information from a certain “Lucas” that was detained at the city jail in Bacoor, also in Cavite.
Undercover policemen were able to buy 150 grams of suspected shabu from the suspects, prompting the arrest. Police later recovered some 300 grams more of the illegal substance during the search.
Still in Cavite, suspected drug pusher Marvin Destajo was arrested by village officials in Barangay Zapote V, Bacoor City around 2 a.m. Monday.
The same police report said village officials were patrolling the area when they chanced upon Destajo. Recovered from the suspect was a sachet of suspected shabu.
In Cavite City, police implemented a search warrant against drug suspect Julieta Tabor around 2:30 a.m. Monday in Barangay 45-M. Police recovered three plastic sachets of alleged shabu from Tabor. /kga
