Drug bust nets cop, 8 others
A drug bust targeting a woman and her son also netted a rookie Caloocan police officers and eight other suspects on Friday in Navotas City.
PO2 Michael del Monte, of the Tala precinct, was among 11 persons arrested by the Northern Police District (NPD) after he was allegedly caught using “shabu” (crystal meth) inside the house of the main targets of the operation — Melenia and Romeo Santiago — in the village of North Bay Boulevard North.
Del Monte had been absent without leave for more than a month and admitted using drugs, said Senior Insp. Danilo Songalia, NPD operations chief. —Ianna Agus and Fate Colobong
