Leader of drug group, 3 others killed in drug war in Calabarzon
CAMP VICENTE LIM, Laguna — Four suspected drug personalities were killed in three separate operations in Calabarzon on Sunday.
Chuef Supt. Edward Carranza, reginal director, said Alden Gallo was killed in a buy-bust operation in Upper Golden Hills, Barangay San Roque, Antipolo City.
Carranza said operatives from Antipolo City, together with elements of the Regional Special Operations Unit, conducted the buy- bust operation and implementation of the warrant of arrest against the suspect.
The operation led to an armed encounter when the suspect and his cohorts resisted and fired at operatives during the buy bust. His accomplice was able to escape.
Carranza added that Gallo was the leader of Alden-Paeng Drug Group involved in drug pushing and gun-for-hire.
In Biñan, two suspected drug pushers were killed in a similar operation in Sitio Lawa, Barangay Canlalay.
One of the suspects is unidentified while the other is known only as Alias Dante.
Supt. Ronan Clarraval, Biñan City chief of police, said personnel of the Intelligence and Drug Enforcement Unit conducted the buy-bust, which resulted in an armed encounter with the two who suspected that they had sold the drugs to a police poseur- buyer.
The suspects fired at the lawmen, triggering an exchange of fire.
Recovered were one .38 caliber revolver, one 9-mm pistol, and several sachets of illegal drugs and drug paraphernalia.
In Kawit,Cavite, suspected drug pusher AlexToquero was killed in a buy-bust operation at Barangay Marulas.
The suspect pulled out a caliber .38 revolver and fired towards the policemen when he sensed that he was transacting with a police officer.
Recovered were nine sachets of shabu and a caliber .38 revolver.
Carranza said these operations were results of the relentless efforts of the Calabarzon’s campaign against all forms of criminalities and anti-illegal drugs operation in the region.
