Leader of drug ring killed in Laguna buy bust
CAMP VICENTE LIM, Laguna – A leader of a drug group was killed in an encounter with San Pedro City Police in Laguna on Wednesday night.
Sr Supt Kirby Kraft, Laguna provincial director, identified the suspect as Gaudencio Rojo III.
Kraft said police conducted a buy-bust operation against the Rojo that resulted in an armed confrontation at Harmony Homes, Barangy San Vicente.
Rojo, Kraft said, sensed that he was dealing with a policemen and pulled out his pistol and then fired at the operatives who werw forced to retaliate. He was declared dead on arrival at Amante Hospital.
Recovered were a loaded .45 caliber pistol loaded and nine sachets of “shabu.”
Rojo was allegedly involved in the distribution of illegal drugs and has past records for robbery and car theft.
He is also the prime suspect in the killing of businessman Eric Bugarin in 2013.
