PCOO acts to prevent future flubs
Communications Secretary Martin Andanar has assured that adjustments are being taken to prevent possible future errors in the Presidential Communications Operations Office’s social media posts in media releases.
Andanar made the comment in his Instagram account after Sen. Sherwin T. Gatchalian noticed that he was erroneously referred to as “Winston Gatchalian” in a news release published in the PCOO website on June 13.
Andanar, in a reply to journalist Arnold Clavio’s comment in his latest Instagram post, said that the news release has been corrected.
“@akosiigan thanks for the heads up. Corrected already. Making necessary adjustments sa SOP hanggang maayos lahat,” Andanar said.
Andanar also said that measures are being taken to prevent such mistakes from happening again.
“We are taking the necessary steps to avoid this mistake,” he said. “We will keep you posted. Usec Marvin Gatpayat and Usec Lorraine Badoy are handling the changes. They are meeting the team tomorrow,” he added.
The PCOO has published an erratum on its website and apologized to Gatchalian for the error. (Argyll Cyrus B. Geducos)
