San Juan police commander relieved for ‘dirty’ precinct, 6 others for neglect of duty
A COMMANDER of a Police Community Precinct (PCP) in San Juan City was ordered relieved from his post on Tuesday morning after his outpost was found “dirty and disorganized.”
Chief Supt. Alfredo Corpuz, Eastern Police District (EPD) officer-in-charge, ordered Senior Inspector Angelbert Dumaging, PCP commander, relieved after he was dismayed by how disorganized and dirty the precinct was during a surprise inspection.
The new EPD chief was also disappointed when, after several attempts to call Dumaging, the commander failed to return his call.
Senior Supt. Orlando Yebra Jr., Pasig City police chief, also on Tuesday ordered the relief of six personnel of the Pasig City Police Station, four of whom were caught sleeping on the job while two others abandoned their posts during inspection early Monday morning.
Administrative charges for neglect of duty will be filed against the seven erring policemen.
“We will a conduct thorough investigation on the incidents and we will allow them to undergo due process. But if those policemen were held liable, the EPD will not tolerate such acts and appropriate disciplinary actions will be given to them,” Corpuz said. NEIL ALCOBER
