Cops hunt inmate who escaped from Occidental Mindoro town jail
CITY OF CALAPAN – Police on Monday are pursuing a detainee who escaped from Magsaysay town jail in Occidental Mindoro province Sunday morning.
A Mimaropa (Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon and Palawan) police spot report said escaped detainee Jay Ar Magno, 22, was charged with frustrated murder and was arrested on June 6.
Magno, a farmer residing in Sitio (sub-village) Gamot in Barangay (village) San Nicolas in Magsaysay, used falsified keys to escape from the municipal jail around 8 a.m. Sunday, said Senior Insp. Rodrigo Borlado, chief of Magsaysay police.
He also has a robbery record with the police, Borlado said.
Search for the escaped detainee continued as of Monday morning.
