Monsoon rains to continue affecting Western Luzon—Pagasa

THE southwest monsoon or “habagat” will continue to bring rains over the western section of Luzon, the state-run weather bureau said on Sunday.

According to the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa), moderate to occasionally heavy monsoon rains will prevail over Pangasinan, Bataan, and Zambales.

The southwest monsoon will also bring cloudy skies with light to moderate rains and isolated thunderstorms over Metro Manila, rest of Ilocos region, Cordillera Administrative Region, Batanes, Babuyan Group of Islands, and Central Luzon.

The rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers caused by localized thunderstorms.

Over the northern and western section of Northern Luzon and the western section of Central Luzon, winds will be strong to gale from the southwest with rough to very rough seas.

The rest of the country will have moderate to strong winds from the south to southwest with moderate to rough seas, Pagasa said. GLEE JALEA
