P250M of smuggled rice seized — report

THE Bureau of Customs seized P250 million worth of smuggled rice at the Manila International Container Terminal on Thursday, according to a radio report.

Customs chief Isidro Lapena inspected about 200 containers with the smuggled high quality Thai rice from Vietnam, it said.

Last April, Customs previously seized P67 million worth of smuggled rice from Zamboanga Sibugay. ARIC JOHN SY CUA
