If Kris will run for senator, she’ll win — Bam Aquino
If Kris Aquino will run for senator in the 2019 polls, the Queen of All Media will win, her cousin Senator Paolo Benigno “Bam” Aquino IV said on Tuesday.
Bam, who is up for reelection in 2019, revealed that the Aquino family has yet to decide on whether there was a room for two Aquinos at the Senate.
“That’s a family decision obviously. Si Kris, if she decides to run, I think she’d win,” he said in an interview on The Chiefs tv show.
Bam said Kris would be “very welcome” in the Senate. “Honestly, kung itutuloy niya itong paninindigan laban sa ginagawa ng mga administrasyon, I think she’d be very welcome in the Senate,” Bam said.
After a heated social media exchange with Presidential Communications Assistant Secretary Mocha Uson, Kris hinted at the possibility of running for public office at next year’s polls.
The youngest child of the late Senator Benigno Aquino Jr. and former President Corazon Aquino has defended her parents from attacks hurled by Uson and some of the President’s supporters.
Bam recalled telling Kris: “At this point na winnable ka at kaya mo manindigan, you’re more than welcome in the opposition slate. Kailangan namin ‘yan.”
“Sabi naman niya she has to pray for it,” Bam said. /vvp
