Man found dead in Iligan City
ILIGAN CITY – A 30-year-old man was found dead in Barangay Del Carmen here around 5 a.m. Monday.
Michael Abapo Amam’s body was found slumped on the road by a resident of Erlindaville in Purok 9. He had a lone gunshot wound in the head.
Senior Inspector Taha Tambog Jr., deputy commander of the Iligan City Police’s station 1, said residents in the area heard one gunshot prior to the discovery of Amam’s body.
Tambog said they found text messages on the victim’s cell phone, which could help in the investigation.
“There is also information that he had a misunderstanding with his former employer. That’s one angle we are also looking at,” he said.
Senior Inspector Felix Rabago, former chief of station 1, said he knew the victim because he did errands for policemen in the area. “But we did not get any report he was involved in illegal activities,” he said.
Police Office 3 Dennis James Alinsub, the investigator of the case, said there were complaints against the victim for voyeurism, but no charges have filed against him. /ee
