3 drug suspects dead in firefight with Quezon City police
THREE drug suspects died on Saturday night in an encounter with the Quezon City Police District (QCPD), its Chie Joselito Esquivel said on Sunday.
They were identified as Jayson Umali, a certain “Nhing”, and one “Badjok”.
Esquivel said the QCPD District Drug Enforcement Unit (QCPD-DDEU)
set an entrapment operation against the suspects at 8:30 p.m. on Saturday at the Balara Filters, Barangay Pansol where P15,000 worth of “shabu” or white chrystalline susbstance was sold to a policemen who posed as a buyer.
The suspects, after sensing that they were dealing with a police officer, immediately pulled out their handguns and opened fire at the operatives, Esquivel said.
The operation led to a brief shootout and the death of the suspects.
Seized were a caliber .45 pistol, a caliber .357 revolver, a caliber .38 revolver, and several sachets of shabu and marijuana.
This is the third time wherein drug suspects were killed in an armed encounter with the Quezon City police for the month of June alone.
Three other drug suspects were shot dead over the past week during the anti-illegal drug operations of the QCPD.
A slain suspect with an alias “Doo” was killed on June 2 after Novaliches policemen conducted a buy-bust against him. He was shot after he reportedly pulled a handgun and attempted to fire at a policeman with a.38 caliber revolver.
Meanwhile, suspects Robert Rivera and Randy Matias were previously killed on June 5 in the middle of a shootout with Batasan policemen. Apart from sachets of shabu, also seized from them were two loaded .caliber 38 revolvers. GLEE JALEA
