Rivals Ateneo, La Salle clash anew in The Classic Cup
Archrivals Ateneo de Manila University and De La Salle University will clash anew in the 2018 edition of The Classic Cup on July 16 at the Orchard Golf and Country Club in Dasmariñas City, Cavite.
Defending champion Ateneo is aiming for a three peat.
The Katipunan-based golfers beat the Green Archers last year by 35 points, 82-44.
The charity tournament aims to raise fund for the scholarship programs of the two schools.
The Classic Cup features six different categories where alumni’s of both schools are eligible to join.
The lowest Unified National Handicapping System handicap index for the months of March, April, and May will be used except in the Open class where double Peoria will be employed.
On-course registration starts at 6 a.m.
The shotgun tee off at the Palmer Course is at 8 a.m. and 8:30 a.m. at the Player Course.
Pre-registration fee is P4,000 (on or before July 2) while regular entry fee is P5,000 (July 3 onwards).
A P2,500 entry fee, meanwhile, is for students with valid and current identification card as well as to Orchard members.
The tournament fee includes green fee, giveaway, mulligan, shared golf cart plus buffet lunch and raffle entry. A mandatory pilligan fee of P300 and minimum caddie fee of P600 are on personal account basis.
