1 dead, 5 injured in construction site accident in Camiguin
CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY—A person died while five others were injured when the metal post being put up for a PLDT project accidentally touched a live wire in Mambajao, Camiguin on Friday.
Chief Insp. Romel Cena, the Mambajao municipal police chief, said the incident took place in Sitio Iri in Barangay Balbagon.
Cena identified the dead worker as Jerome Moleño of Barangay Cabalantian, Manticao, Misamis Oriental.
Those injured, who sustained various degree of burns from the electric shock, were Brendo Gulane, 45, also from Cabalantian; Barry Faelnar, from Barangay Iponan here; Renel Lamoste, from Cabalantian; Mario Jamito from Barangay Napaliran in Balingasag, Misamis Oriental; and Joel Balabat, also from Cabalantian.
Mambajao Mayor Jurdin Jesus Romualdo said those confined at a hospital were being taken care of by the municipal government. /jpv
