Armed Forces of the Philippines Chief of Staff Gen. Carlito Galvez Jr. believes that the passage of the Bangsamoro Basic Law is an antidote against terrorism.

“I was informed that the third and final reading of the BBL was already approved by the bicam, we’re so happy,” Galvez said after awarding a total of P27.6 million to informants who gave vital information that led to the neutralization of 10 terrorists at the OJ2 Multi-Purpose Hall, ISAFP compound, Camp Aguinaldo, Quezon City Thursday.

“As I have said, the BBL is one of the antidote of the terrorism so once we have passed the BBL, the Bangsamoro question now, the political solution will be embraced,” he added.

Galvez said that the Moro Islamic Liberation Front is very much happy with the development. “I believe they are very happy with the passage. This is a long way negotiation since 1997 and we had a ceasefire and I believe this is a very positive milestone for us,” he said.

Galvez said the passage of the BBL will mean a more cooperative engagement with the MILF.
