5 drug suspects nabbed in Manila anti-crime operations
MANILA police arrested five people in separate operations against illegal drugs on Thursday night as part of its anti-crime campaign.
Arrested by the PS-8 Station Drug Enforcement Team (SDET) along P. Casal Street, San Miguel were Norodin Saronai, 45, with the alias of Doctor; and Samsai Saronai, 28. Confiscated were three small heat-sealed sachets of suspected shabu and P300 worth of buy-bust money.
The PS-10 SDET arrested John Neil Sallao, 21; Joshua Cabarle, 21; and John Clien Pangilinan, 19, along Beata Street, Pandacan at 11:30 p.m. Seized were a small glass pipe containing suspected marijuana, and one small heat-sealed sachet allegedly containing the same illegal substance.
The suspects underwent medico-legal procedures at the Jose Reyes Memorial Medical Center (JRMMC). The confiscated pieces of evidence were also turned over to the MPD Crime Laboratory Office (MPD-CLO) for appropriate forensic and chemical examinations.
Violation of the Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002) will be filed against the suspects before the Manila City Prosecutor’s Office.
